Ealing's Missed collection - Update and Petition

I can update residents on a meeting tonight I had with with Ealing Council's Chief Executive.A number of things were highlighted during the meeting:• Confirmation that in the ward of Southfield (contains parts of Acton and Chiswick) 25 percent of roads have not had their waste collected this week.• Acceptance that their needs to be a change of policy so that streets missed out on a particular day should be treated with a higher priority.• Part of the cause of the problem was that the contractor had too few staff, they were not fully trained with the new collection vehicles and the collection rounds were larger than before.• That the backlog of uncollected waste is reducing borough wide and they hope to have no backlog by the end of this week.• Confirmation that better communication is needed from the Council when communicating with residents who have made complaints about the poor service. As you can imagine I am currently taking all promises from the Council, and their waste contractor, with a large pinch of salt. But tonight Ealing's Chief Executive was open and honest about the issues he is facing and I could see he is active in trying to ensure that the problems are not repeated next week.I have set up an on-line petition to get the Council to hold a review so that this type of poor service cannot happen again. Please sign it yourself and then please pass it on to friends and neighbours. The more signatures the more powerful our statement will be.The link to click is: http://signme.org.uk/727

Waste food still not collected in Church Gardens after waiting a full week - truly Beyond Disrespect

So, Councillor Mafouz, all this ostentatious eating of humble pie in public and all your assurances are worthless. No 'Bicycling Bassam' or officers spotted in this neglected backstreet, and endless waits on Council phoneline (boy am I sick of that repetitive dreary whining muzak) despite claims of extra customer 'services' phoneline staffing. The story from Church Gardens, South Ealing:- Black sacks and dry-recycling green boxes were collected on normal day (Tuesday) last week but not the food waste. After waiting a day or two I phoned to report this last Thurdsay and (when I eventually got through) was assured it would be collected from this street by end of next day (Friday) at latest. It wasn't. So, phoned up again today, no explanation as to why the promised 'mop-up' late collection didn't happen - just an assurance that it would be collected by end of tomorrow (Wed). No answer to my query as to how we could be sure that would happen in view of last week's failure, or what we are supposed to do about the accumulated waste if it wasn't.Tomorrow is the due day for refuse and recycling collection here - day later than normal due to bank holiday. I have no confidence whatever that performance will be any better than last week, and am not prapard to risk being lumbered with this container of festering food waste - some of it now a fortnight old - for a further week or more, plus the last few days' further accumulation. So, all that will be going into the black sack tomorrow morning, as will all this household's food waste from now on. The weekly task of dealing with this muck and cleaning out the container after collection (otherwise it stinks) was a messy time-consuming stomach-churning weekly task at the best of times. I see no reason to be lumbered with it if the Council isn't going to bother to collect it or to rectify pronto if it's missed on normal collection day.Well done Ealing Council!!

Beyond Disrespect

Subject: BEYOND DISRESPECT WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!Abraham asked the Lord to spare 50 righteous people. God responded to Abraham's plea, "If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I  will spare all . . . . Genesis 18:16-33The movie " Corpus  Christi " is due to be released this June to August. This disgusting film set to appear in America later this year depicts  Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals!  As a play, this has already been in theatres for a while.  It's called " Corpus  Christi " which means "The Body of Christ".  It's revolting mockery of our Lord.  But we can make a difference. That's why I am sending this e-mail to you.  If you do send this around,  we just might be able to prevent this film from showing in Australia. Let's stand for what we believe in and stop the mockery of Jesus Christ our Saviour.  Where do we stand as Christians?  At the risk of a bit of inconvenience, I'm forwarding this to all I think would appreciate it, too.  Please help us prevent such offenses against our Lord.  There is no petition to sign, no time  limit, or minimum number of people to send this to.  It will take  you less than 2 minutes!Apparently, some regions in Europe have already banned the film.  All we need is a lot of prayer and a lot of e-mails.I address myself to all muslims and Hindus or believers or non believers .JUST GET THE WORD OUT ....  will God  be able to find at least 50 righteous people who are willing to express their concern and voice their opinion against this act of blasphemy?I AM NOT A PERSON WITH DEEP RELIGIOUS BELIEFS BUT THE TEXT ABOVE CAME TO ME FROM A FRIEND WHO IS UNHAPPY ABOUT SUCH RISREGARD FOR THE FEELINGS OF CHRISTIANS . I AM OUTRAGED.
