Live Music at The Ealing Club

We had a great night out last night with live blues from the Riotous Brothers and the Robin Bibi Band.  It was the first time I'd visited this club but one of our friends who grew up in Ealing used to go there in the 60s so was keen to meet up with us there. So nice to go somewhere for live music within walking distance. They have a Louisiana music evening coming up at the end of the month - and a facebook page:http://www.facebook.com/EalingClub

HEINZ TOMATO FRITO

Please can anyone tell me if any shops in Ealing or nearby stock this product?  It is used a lot in Spanish cooking and is a Delia "cheat".  But despite that, none of the main supermarket chains stock it.

Ealing Today should run a competition.

A competition to see who comes up with the best limerick containing the word "co-mingling".In Hanwell, this morning, I see the refuse collectors are still emptying the contents of residents' green boxes into their white hessian sacks and then emptying the lot into one truck. When are Ealing Council going to insist all of its residents wear red bobble hats emblazoned with the word 'SUCKERS'.I'm sure the cost of the hats can be financed by next year's inevitable council tax rise.

Special Council Meeting on Recycling and Refuse collections

A quick reminder that the above will take place tomorrow in the Council chamber of Ealing Town Hall, at 7:00 pm. This has been called in order to discuss the recent collapse of Ealing's refuse system. As with all council meetings, members of the public are welcomed to attend.

Venue hire - suggestions please

Looking for somewhere that I could do some drinks and snacks one saturday afternoon in July for about 50, maybe more.As I'm not from Ealing I was hoping the people here could help out with suggestions.Needs to be suitable for young children (0-5 years old) so was thinking maybe a room in a pub although the ideal would be to have a BBQ but be able to go inside in case of bad weather. Thanks in advance!

Live debate TONIGHT on same sex marriage in Chiswick...

Dear all! Please mark and reserve an important date for your diaries! On Monday 30th April 2012 at Gunnersbury Baptist Church in Chiswick, there will be an exciting and relevant, free public debate on the subject of the Governments recent proposals to redefine marriage to incorporate same-sex couples. Two top-class speakers with differing opinions will discuss this very important topic.1) Adrian Trett is Chair of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) + Liberal Democrats since the Coalition Government was formed, and the author of the original motion on Equal Marriage in the UK for Liberal Democrat Conference in 2010. His campaigning group has been working with our Liberal Democrat Ministers, in particular Lynne Featherstone MP to enable this issue to be brought on to the Government's agenda, now with the public consultation and hopefully for legislation to be passed by 2015 to enable equal marriage in the UK.2) Rev. David Robertson is the Pastor of St. Peters Free Church in Dundee. He is the Author of 'The Dawkins Letters' and regular conference speaker and debater for the Evangelical Christian Church. There will be a chance, during this debate for questions from the audience.Doors will open at 7.00 pm for a 7.30 pm start. Entrance to this debate is absolutely free although early arrival is recommended.Watch out for the formal publicity - fliers and posters!I hope you will support this important event,Many thanks,Laurence TruettDebate Coordinator07807003553

A Police STOP at 2 AM An elderly man is stopped by the police around 2 a.m. and is asked where he is going at this time of night. The man replies, "I am on my way to a lecture about alcohol abuse and the effects it has on the human body, as well as smoking and staying out late."The officer then asks, "Really? Who is giving that lecture at this time of night?"The man replies, "That would be my wife."
