Ealing Rooftop Cinema

I’m new to this forum and something came to my attention so I thought I would post for the first time…The Ealing Rooftop Cinema that’s supposed to run all summer for the next few years in Springbridge Rd car park has started to advertise its programme for the year. However as far as I know, planning permission has not yet been granted for this. I was consulted over the plans and have checked the Ealing Council website, it still says this is ‘pending’. How can they advertise the films if they don’t even know they will be able to be there?Thanks.

West Ealing is becoming more dangerous

Within a week, there have been 2 knive attacks. One at Sylvester hair dressers in west Ealing and the other next door in the restaurant. The area is no longer what it is used to be. I always see police cars in the area and don't know if it is drug related or what. In my opinion, the area needs some money injected to provide more jobs, more opportunities and also more decent shops needed in west Ealing.If you like west Ealing, what is it that you like about it and if you could make any changes, what would you do.By the way, the idea to build flats on top of St John's School is so daft and dangerous and should be stopped.

65% of Ealing planners live OUTSIDE borough

As I continue my crusade against the terrible state of planning I have discovered through more FOI requests that 65% of Ealing planners live outside the borough. Of the 37 only 13 live here. The Exec Board is littel ebetter with 2 of the 5 highly paid Execuiotves living in the borough.Hardly surprising so many bad decisions are made!

Digital radio reception in Ealing.

We love radio in our household. So we bought a digital radio and found the reception was so much better than our old AM radios - so we bought more HD Digital radios. However, reception in a groundfloor room could be better - its not as clear and crisp as in all the other rooms. Question is...why?  Would having an aerial in the roof help? Thanks.

The Duchess of Cambridge is about to produce a future king or queen of England. How exciting - I wish her(and HRH the Duke) the best of luck. I wonder which name(s) they'll choose. Any ideas?I favour Alexander(Alexandria) or George(Georgina).

Recycling & Waste at the Blues Festival

What a shambles! Lipservice to the idea only.People were wandering around looking for bins.You want people to be responsible and then you fail miserably to allow them to be.If we can have on-the-go bins in parks with WRAP graphics - minimalist as they are, then why oh why do we just have bins marked "Recycling".  Recycling of what? The festivals attract people from different boroughs and homes even within the borough with different things recyclable.Why on earth aren't cans recycled separately?  There are lots of them!There are a lot of families come to Ealing's festivals and they are used to sorting their waste - used to minimising their waste.  We are supposed to be trying to REDUCE our waste.The possibility to build on experience year after year is there together with improving what is offered but it is totally squandered.

Brentford Festival

Plans for this year’s Brentford Festival are well underway. It’s on Sunday September 1st at their brand new location – Blondin Park (in between Northfield & Boston Manor tube stations) from 12.00.  Scores of groups have booked stalls – from getting your dog’s DNA tested (does Jeremy Kyle know about this?) to sweets and cakes, jewellery & gifts.  But there are still a few stalls left. You're up next Ealing Council - Excess residents parking zone charges are unlawful
